Awards of the EVGA X99 Classified, 151-HE-E999-KR, LGA 2011v3, Intel X99, SATA 6Gb/s, USB 3.1, USB 3.0, EATX, Intel Motherboard (151-HE-E999-KR)
Performance, I can say WOW!!! The board flat-out flies, Classified has always been about performance and pushing the envelope and this board delivers when pushing the clocks. The efficiency and performance picks up and just makes the board go. The board does what it should and does it well add to this the ability to run 4 Way CrossfireX or SLI and you can see that the performance party has started and the Classified is on the VIP list.
Starting at the BIOS, I really like the layout and functionality of the BIOS on the X99 Classified. It is extremely simple to navigate around, simple to overclock the CPU or memory. All critical information is readily available and easy to keep an eye on.
I did do everything (4.76GHz 125BCLK @1.306CPU Vcore) from within the BIOS which was very functional and easy to use
EVGA does things their own way and I absolutely love that. The rest of the market seems to play follow the leader imitating a lot of what Asus does but the best way to grow market share isn’t to do what everyone else is doing, EVGA is clearly paving their own way
…the EVGA UEFI BIOS is an absolute breeze to use. It looks great, everything is easy to find, and as you saw today, it helped achieve an extremely strong overclock on our i7 5960X EE.
The EVGA X99 Classified gives any enthusiast the tools they need to get the most from their Haswell-E Processor. While overclocking the i7 5960X to 4.9 GHz, the X99 Classified was eager to please and capable of pushing it as far as it would go. You’re more than likely going to reach the overclocking limit of your CPU long before this motherboard gets in your way.
The EVGA X99 Classified Intel X99 motherboard pushed our Intel Core i7-5960X further than we’ve previously done.
When it comes to overclocking we found the X99 Classified to be one of the easiest systems to use and attribute it all to the new UEFI system and a little experience overclocking the desktop Haswell.
...once the system was dialed in. However, the X99 Classified does seem to have a lot of untapped performance potential under the hood.
